xbox gamertag issues

If it is connected to a zune account you will have to create a new WLID to make a gamertag. It makes you create a zune username which acts like a gamertag. I think you can try recovering with the email and password associated with the zune account. I'm not
really sure if you can do that.

The numbers (suffix) are given when you have the same gamertag as another account on the servers. So even though it has the numbers, it's considered the same time. You would have to change the current tag to something else and then change it back after the tag is freed up.

You can't request a gamertag be freed up.

If it says it's taken then there's nothing you can do.

Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live & remember the system does not recognise things like spaces or capitol letters so ItsTheBanana would be the same as itsthebanana or Its The Banana.

You will have to think of another tag.

The Xbox Policy Enforcement Team only issues forced Gamertag changes to Gamertags that violate the ToU and Code of Conduct. When a Forced Gamertag Change is issued, your Gamertag is converted to a randomly generated tag. I'd recommend just gathering up
the $9.99 and paying for a change, since your Gamertag does not seem to be in violation of the rules, and I do not foresee a Forced Gamertag Change being issued for it.
