Xbox Gamertag Enforcement Change after 10 years

Hello,

I just wanted to share my grievance for a recent enforcement change to my gamertag.

I'm a very active gamer who has played under the tag [Mod Removed]
for over 10 years.

It's a personal nickname of mine I earned from high-school based on a derivation of my surname.

I have built an identity around this name, and I am very proud to be affectionately called it from my friends.

It's even adorns the licence plate of my registered car, and I recently ordered a Solstice of Heroes t-shirt from Bungie with this tag.

Two days ago the enforcement changed it to "HappyBunny2782", and since this moment, I've suffered great humiliation from my clan and xbox friends. I'm devastated to have lost my identity, and disappointed that I would forced to spend ~$14
AUD to pick a gamertag of my choosing.

I plead to the enforcement team to return my gamertag and my identity so I can continue to play the games I love on xbox, with a great community of players I often communicate with.

Does anyone have a problem with my Gamertag?

Just curious if the gametag MyKneeGrows82 offends anyone and why? i have been a loyal x-box player for over a decade, and suddenly after thousands of people seeing my gamertag, and not having a problem with it, enforcement changes my gamertag, which by the way does not include any of the things that they say it shouldn't, so am i being singled out as an example? i don't see how showing proudly my race in my gamertag is a problem. Any thoughts on whether or not this should be possible for enforcement to do when the gamertag is in violation of none of the requirements of the enforcement&policies agreement whatsoever.

 

Free gamertag change never occured?

Hey Xbox,

THis may seem far fetched, however after reading a post about free gamertag change you get after creating and xbox live account, but i've realised after two $AUD 10 name changes, I never actually got a free name change option.

My gamertags over the 2 years since i've had xbox-

Original- ToInfinitee (or something very similar)--occured in 2014

$10 change to F4T4L H0RIZ0N --occured in 2014

$10 change to (my current one)--occured in 2015

I can provide screenshots of the billing to acquire the name changes, and after 2 years i've come to the realisation i never actually received that free name change, and i was wondering Xbox was kind enough to allow my account for a free name change

The enforcement team does not use the forums. You can try submitting a case review at http://enforcement.xbox.com However, it doesn't matter if you've had a tag for 10 minutes or 10 years. If it violates the code of conduct, they can change it per the
code of conduct you agreed to. It just took them that long to see it.

 

Thank you for your prompt reply Smwutches, but I'm still trying to understand how I've violated the code of conduct, especially after such a long period of time.

Surely if my gamertag was such a problem, it would of been alerted to me earlier.

I've invested money into purchasing merchandise with my gamertag, which has now become redundant due to this nontransparent form of enforcement.

I thought the forum might be a good medium to get a response.

Also should be noted that the moderators removed the gamertag reference
