Xbox gamertag change doesnt work

There could be multiple reasons why you're experiencing these issues, most likely the gametag is already taken and is currently in use by another user. Try using a different word or a different combination of words. Hope this helps!

well no you cant check availability of a gamertag unless you actually try and change the name

sending a msg to the gamertag doesnt work becuase it doesnt cross servers

games for windows account and zune does use the same system but doesnt accept msgs well at lesst zune doesnt

if the systen says when you change the gamertag that it isnt available it isnt

you will have to be more creative like replacing letters with numbers or change the spelling

also spacing doesnt make a name different so is the samr as the same as ngoc pho for example

try a liscence transfer.

have you moved your gamertag in any way since you last used the dlc?

did the gamertag your using buy the dlc or was it another?

delete from storage ,redownload,if that doesnt work try a transfer,if that doesnt work try recovering your gamertag,if that doesnt work,call xbox live and talk to a rep.

Do u have an email attached to that account that u can recover the gamertag from so u can change the password and get into the account?

If that doesnt work I would contact xbox customer service
