Discus and support Xbox Gamepass on windows 11 wont download any games. in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I'm creating this post as one final effort I've pretty much done it all, open up PowerShell run some silly commands, repair, uninstall the app, etc....     Xbox Gamepass on windows 11 wont download any games.


    I'm creating this post as one final effort I've pretty much done it all, open up PowerShell run some silly commands, repair, uninstall the app, etc. and nothing works whenever I try and download any game it says "preparing" and it stays like that. At first, I thought it was my internet but later testing this was not the case because I can still download games on steam.

    Are they ever going to have a game pass section on the PC app?

    no point as in windows 11 the store directs you to the xbox app for games now, you have to use the xbox app to initiate game downloads (even bought games) and use gamepass games too.

    all that and yet it is still the windows store that downloads the stuff in the background.

    Thank you. It happens with any gamepass game. I am indeed uning the Xbox App to download/install/launch your Game Pass Games. I am using Windows 11.

    On a side note. I have no issues with purchased games through Steam as games do run perfectly.

    Advice for newbies

    Any gamepass games you've downloaded will still be installed on your hard drive but you wont be able to play them without a gamepass/ultimate subscription.

    If you've downloaded any games with gold then you would need a gold sub or ultimate sub to play the xbox one games but you don't need a sub to play any xbox360 or original xbox games you've downloaded.

    You may still have gold working and you could ahve downloaded mincraft off of gamepass. After gamepass ends it wont allow to play any gamepass game you have currently downloaded. Which one ran out, game pass or gold?

    ok, gaming on windows 11 is also worse than 10, the windows store and xbox gamepass are disconnected and feel very clunky, this is from extensive testing too.
