    Xbox gamebar not letting me talk.


    So whenever I load up game bar and join a party I can hear others but no one can hear me. I did a test and its not my mic. My mic works on other computers just fine but on my PC it doesn't so I think its something to do with game bar.

    Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?

    Game Bar Party only hears me if xbox game bar is actively open

    This is by no means a good fix, but it has worked for me at at least lets you talk to your friends without actively keeping the gamebar open. When you are in a party, hit Win + G and click the pin icon on the "xbox party widget". You will see the overlay on your screen which is a tad annoying, but party chat will actually work and people can hear you.

    I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but there have been headsets that have mic issues. You can request a free replacement from myservice.xbox.com. And you don't need to send the old one back.

    Thanks for the info. I actually did reach out to customer support and it was what I thought. It seems there is an issue with the cache if you leave the xbox on instant on mode that eventually causes my headset to not work. Turning it to power save fixes
    it and they should have an update out for it eventually. Thanks again for the info.

    Sounds like you are having GameBar issues! Take a look at our Gamebar support articles:

    Troubleshoot Game Bar on Windows 10

    Keep in mind with updates sometimes certain features are made unavailable. This may not be the case in this instance but it is a possibility.
