Xbox Game pass wont show external drive in install drop-down

Hi, I've updated to the latest version of windows 10 and my issue has changed slightly but is not resolved. Now on a fresh start of xbox it will show my e drive upon clicking install, however the install button is greyed out and i cant click it, upon clicking the change button it will revert to only showing the c drive. I have also checked my Xbox app for updates and I am fully updated.

Hello GhostyMcKringleBerry, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11.

Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update and then make all subsequent security updates.

@markmoore793 I selected my external hdd in the drop down so it would only show what was on it and it shows nothing but when i connect system back to internet it shows all the game i installed

Have you tried changing the install location to the external drive in the Xbox App on the notebook?

• Launch the Xbox App on your notebook
  
• Click your profile icon
  
• Click “Settings”
  
• Select “General”
  
• Under “Game install options” you should see “Change where this app installs games by default”
  
• Select the external drive from drop down menu
  
• Close out the app entirely and then relaunch it
  

This may cause the Xbox app to recognize that there are games installed on the external drive.
