xBox Game Pass Ultimate installed under wrong account

Just a friendly reminder though that sharing a subscription is only available on Xbox console but I have here a workaround for you from Xbox support:

"If you’re planning to play games or use subscriptions purchased by someone else who uses that PC—a parent, for example—you’ll need to add their account as the Microsoft Store account in the Xbox app settings. Otherwise, games already installed using that account won’t launch because they weren’t purchased using your Xbox account."

Are you on an Xbox console, Carl? If yes, you can simply set your account as Home Xbox on the console in that way your son will be able to use the services.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

3. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

4. Check "Make this as My Home Xbox".

After that you can switch to his profile and he will be able to install and play Xbox game pass games.

Would this also hold true for PC version of Game Pass Ultimate? My son already had the Gold Pass on his console. I had just purchased him a Gaming PC and Best Buy suggested the Game Pass Ultimate. I ran into the current problem while trying to install on the PC.

So you have "Ultimate" right below your gamertag on the Xbox app, right?

May I know if you have any other Microsoft account that you could have signed into the Microsoft store or the Xbox app recently?

yes ultimate is directly under my gamer tag and i only have one account on pc 2 on console but ive never used the 2nd account on pc and on the game pass page where it says see all plans it has pc games pass which says join and directly under that is games pass ultimate and says manage

You can definitely game share. You can only upgrade to Xbox game pass ultimate under the same account that has an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
