    Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Error Codes


    I just subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

    I saw two games to download

    1. Biomutant

    2. PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls

    When attempting to install the first and cloud play the second both worked and symptoms started:

    1. Biomutant successfully installed at 13GB . The game card downloaded to my home screen and my app reported it was installed and ready to play.

    Launching the game I received an error during launch gave me an error that I needed the license similar to below:

    Failed to start gaming session

    You don't currently own. In order to paly this game, you will need to purchase the game or provide a valid license

    2. With Paw Patrol, I attempted a cloud play and the game card downloaded on my profile, but disappeared from the Game Pass Library.

    Launching the game always results in the error:

    You don't currently own. In order to paly this game, you will need to purchase the game or a subscription that includes it.

    Do you have Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? Because the error speak about "conversion", maybe you are trying to redeem an Xbox Live code of a different region and conversion to Game Pass Ultimate don't work in this way. As additional information the codes
    are always region assigned.

    Xbox Gold conversion

    If you are already a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, then any Gold codes you redeem will be converted to Game Pass Ultimate. If you are not an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscriber, then no, the Gold codes should not convert to Game Pass Ultimate.

    The 14 day codes are trials and will only work with new subscribers to Game Pass, which is why there's an error. You would need a code that is not a trial code (anything 1 month or above) or purchase Game Pass (or Ultimate) directly from Xbox.

    I was about to redeem a code for 3 months of gold and it would only redeem as 1 month of ultimate

    If you had Xbox Game Pass Ultimate already active before you redeem that code, when you enter a code for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass it will add as Game Pass Ultimate and not only Xbox Game Pass, is this your case?
