Xbox Live free trials are usually only given out with some new console and game purchases. If have not signed up for Game pass yet, you can sign up for Game Pass Ultimate for $1, in participating regions. You can sign up here.

It sounds like you signed up for Game Pass Ultimate, if this is the case when you cancelled it you would have lost your Xbox Live Gold as well, since when you sign up to Game Pass Ultimate it combines any Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass into the one
subscription.

You can cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by signing to your account, and sign up again for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass for Console.

Hi there, unfortunately Gamepass is only available in these regions:

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Rep, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, *Russia, Saudi
Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, UK, and the US. Since your card is registered outside of these regions, then you won't be able to purchase Xbox Game Pass.

I love my Ultimate game pass, But if you want to change back You can cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by signing in at www.xbox.com/accounts,
