Xbox Game Pass Redeemed Under the Wrong Account

Redeemed Xbox Ultimate Game Pass (& Added 1 month subscription for $1) only to find it's all under parent's account. Cannot find any answers as to how to rectify this. We tried to redeem the voucher via my son's account but received a notification that he needed a parent. Can someone please advise? I have a very upset 11 year old! Thanks in advance.

To redeem Ultimate Game Pass (and any other subs) on a minor's (under 18) account, requires, temporarily, for purchases to be enabled on that account as it is a subscription.

Assuming that your child is playing on a console, you could always sign into the console with the parent account, set it as the home console and then log out...this would then share all the benefits of the GPU (minus cloud gaming)

There is no way to transfer the GPU to a different account...I believe I have read in the past where people have contacted support and they have done it but it is not guaranteed

I could be wrong here but I was under the impression that Game Pass perks were only available for the account with Game Pass and can't be transferred

Do you and your son share an account, or do you use separate accounts?

It is possible that you may have redeemed the code on the wrong account. If that happens to be the case, designating the console that your son is playing on as the home console for your account will allow him to access your Xbox subscriptions without you having to sign in.

I'd also like to add that if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and redeem an Xbox Live Gold code while the subscription is active, it will convert your Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate.
