    Hi.

    I play on remote computer (Shadow) and I downloaded Xbox game pass for PC.

    I played a few games, creating a second drive to have a NTFS formatted drive as it wouldn't work without, fine, understood.

    I installed and played a few games, and it worked well for a time.

    Now, I've uninstalled Dragon Quest XI (40Go) and tried to install Code Vein (~38Go). I have 56Go of free space, but it says I havn't enough space to install the game, despite having uninstalled a heavier game.

    I scrolled through the forums and through reddit, so I already changed my default drive to install new app, I changed the settings of Xbox Game Pass app to install new games to my D: drive, restarted the computer, re-installed the Xbox Game Pass app, and I cleared the Microsoft Store cache. Still, can't install a 38Go game in a drive with 55+ Go of free space for no reason. Still this 80070070 error. And I can't understand why it worked fine for a time and now it doesn't work anymore, having nothing different. Parameters force the app to ask me where I want to download games when I download them, so I make sure to check if the D: drive is selected, and it is, but it's not working.

    Can't be an error of drives, as nothing would install on the C: drive for it's not a NTFS drive. It shows another error saying the drive is not formatted for Xbox Game Pass games, so having the "not enough space" error must mean I'm using the right drive, I guess....

    Any ideas ?

    Hi,

    Error 80070070 is a Windows 10 error code, not a Xbox App error. The Xbox App actually uses the Windows Store as its downloading program.

    You seem to be attempting to install games on drives that are already critically low on storage. Attempting to install a 40GB game on a drive with only 50GB of storage will more than likely cause installation issues.

    The reason for this is because the files downloaded may need to be uncompressed to the storage device during the download and install process, the excess data from this should be removed at the finish of the install. If you don't have enough free space for the temp files, you'll get an error.

    Some games are more compressed than others, which would explain why smaller games may show the 80070070 error and others do not. Just because you've got 90GB free on a drive doesn't mean you can necessarily install a 80GB game for example.

    You need more space. To install a game that's 50GB you should have at least 100GB free.

    Is it possible that the drive doesn't have enough space for these games? I recently tried to install a game that I didn't have enough free space for and the Xbox app was slightly less than helpful when informing me of the issue. If you go to the downloads
    page in the Microsoft Store app on your PC, it may give you more information as to why the download is failing.
