    XBOX Game Pass (PC) - Error 0x80070424 [SOLVED]


    The problem

    I have yesterday subscribed on XGP for PC, then when I tried to download games I was experiencing an issue where the games would not download and they would retrieve an error with the error code 0x80070424.

    Problem cause

    After a quick research I have realized that might be occurred to me because I have the habit to uninstall a lot of default system apps that comes packaged with Windows 10 and some of them might have a relation with the Microsoft Store which XGP app is directly tied with.

    How I solved it

    So I have run a PowerShell command that manages to install back all default system apps, this has solved my issue.

    How you can solve it

    1. Press windows key > Type "Windows Powershell" > Press "Ctrl + Shift + Enter" = It opens Powershell with admin rights.

    2. Copy and paste the following command in your Powershell terminal (Some errors might be shown during execution, that's normal):

    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Restart windows

    4. Try to install your games again.

    Let’s try some steps to isolate the issue. Kindly check if you have any pending updates using this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo... or select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.

    If there's nothing pending, kindly right-click the Start button on your taskbar, and then select Windows Terminal (Admin). In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage

    I followed all the steps but I still have the same error code when attempting to download games off the game pass I've only been able to download two games but others still have the same error code 0x80070424
