Xbox Game Pass PC error 0x8007001f when installing games

on external macbook hard drive/dual boot) Did you figure any solution to this? i can install other games fine but when i try to install halo mcc it errors out at 4.8%

Unfortunately the issue is still unresolved. I have the same problem with Halo or any "Administrator approval required for installation" game. It would seem that Apple Mac + Windows 10 + Xbox Game Pass PC = Error 0x8007001f

I have the same problem here. Every Xbox Game Pass for PC game with "Administrator approval required for installation" in the description fails to install with error code 0x8007001F The game download starts fine, but as soon it gets to the part where the
installation should start - boom! - error 0x8007001F

The Windows 10 on my computer is up to date. All the device drivers are fine and up to date. The restarting of the computer, change of region settings, reinstalling Xbox Beta app, using Windows Store app instead, reinstalling of Windows 10 on different hard
drive (and some other of the commonly available "fixes") - nothing helps. The problem persists. The problematic computer is Apple iMac 27-inch model March 2019 with Windows 10 installed on a separate hard drive. On my Lenovo laptop the same Xbox Game Pass
PC account works without any problems.

Hi, sorry for that issue, the problem is the external hard drive, for some reason (I don't know why), the games that require Administrator approval have issue on external drive.

Thanks for the answer. External hard drive it is not the problem in my case. While trying to find a solution to this Xbox Game pass for PC / Windows Store error I did reinstall Windows 10 on my iMac's internal hard drive. The problem with error 0x8007001f
persists even when Windows 10 is installed on the internal hard drive.

Yo Microsoft, let us use our Game Pass subscription on Macs running Windows 10 from an external SSD or I won’t get the Series X. We don’t want a Windows partition or Virtual Machine polluting the internal storage of our Mac lol

i used to get the same error on one of my other pc's, i had linux installed as primary and windows 10 as a second os, dual booting.

games that didnt need raised permissions worked ok from gamepass pc but anything that needed admin errored out, i blanked the hdd and installed windows as the primary and it worked straight away.

my friends mac has a simular issue, and it looks to be a hardware thing as windows is checking hardware signatures for games that require admin. in the end he gave up.

its kind of a pain in the rear really...its either they want more market share on gaming "especially now" or they are just fine with people giving up on the process because it's such a nightmare. Simple solution if you are going to check the hardware (as
someone said above) at least give an accurate reason for the failure or plainly state somewhere that "if you have this setup (state the different setups you do not support), downloading or installing games purchased through Xbox Game Pass from the Microsoft
Store, will neither be installed nor downloaded" (there is your wording massage it how you need to). The thing is if I had known this was going to be such a nightmare to get working, I would not have even thought about it or would have purchased the games
through Steam instead (assuming I got pass error 12). I used to have a big ole gaming PC, gave that up and went to consoles then gave up on gaming altogether for the past decade...and then COVID, and I realized how much I wanted to just play AOE. At the
moment a proud or not so owner of Windows 10 Pro, I cant use and a few games I cannot play. So much of this gOoD thing... I mean we are sitting here saying "Take my money, please" and they are like "nope we good".
