Xbox Game Pass games frequently won't start, and now won't uninstall

This issue (not starting) has been happening with multiple games including Company of Heroes 2: CC, Gears 5 and The Messenger, but the biggest offender recently has been State of Decay 2: JE.

I play for a while, take a break and try to play again later in the day, and it just won't launch. I press PLAY and nothing happens. It doesn't show up in my task manager, not even for a second . Previously, with all games I've had this problem with, I've
uninstalled and reinstalled and that's worked ~75% of the time (sometimes they work randomly after a little time has gone by, sometimes they just won't work, and rebooting the PC
never works).

I played State of Decay 2 twice, just yesterday. I went to load it up a third time and it bugged again. Uninstalling has worked every time in the past, but this time it refuses to uninstall. The error code is 0xfffffffff, and the link saying "find help for
this," leads me to a 404'd page.

How do I get the game pass to stop having basic issues like this before the price doubles and it instantly becomes not worth having?

It won't uninstall the games when you cancel your game pass, but you won't be able to play any of the games you have installed from the game pass subscription, unless you buy them, or get game pass again.

It won't uninstall them, but you won't be able to play them unless you renew game pass or buy them.

Hello,

I have two games (The outer world and TABS) that are installed on my PC but will not uninstall. I've tried to uninstall them using the xbox game app but it wouldn't do anything. I've also went to the control panel but they do not show up. I do not receive
any pop up error messages in the process.

Is there a way I can access the folders they are installed in and use the "uninstall" file, if there is any.

Count me in on this as well. Same thing, am a game pass sub, was playing the game for the past few days, and now it won't start. Says if I have the disc to insert it, If I don't to be sure I'm signed in, I am. All other game pass
games run perfectly fine. I did the uninstall/ power cycle/ reinstall and still no go. Hope someone figures this out soon.

I’m having this same issue on top of others. Games that were working perfectly fine yesterday all the sudden have started to freeze upon startup. I notice my kids had filled the hard drive to 97% capacity. I thought maybe this was my problem so I went to uninstall and nothing happens no matter what I do. I also went to do your option above and reset console and when I press the button absolutely nothing happens. I don’t know what’s wrong?
