Xbox Game Pass Games After Re-install of Windows

To my knowledge and experience its not possible to back up the games. This is because the WindowsApps folder is encrypted. This encryption even goes as far as not allowing the folders to be migrated to a new install of Windows on the same machine let alone
a new one. The encryption is not removed if you take control of the folder either.

I can only assume the system creates some other files located in the OS itself with a unique encryption hash that can't be migrated that locks out installs being moved or copied. I can't be certain.

I know what you mean with other distribution systems on PC like Steam or EA's Origin, you just point them back to the folder where the games are. Unfortunately, for reasons unbeknown to me, Microsoft doesn't do it this way.

It's not on xbox console, i played it on my windows pc after installation of xbox app and having a xbox game pass, there on playing the game this error happens.

When you re-installed the DLC did you re-install the Year passes themselves or where the passes split up with the contents separately?

If you 100% confirm that you own the passes for all of the operators, then I suggest a

soft factory reset of your console followed by re-installing the entire game after the reset if the operators are still not showing in game.

You only can play Xbox Game Pass PC games with the last build of Windows 10. U want to update to last build, install xbox beta app and after install games.

I fixed this by un-installing XBox, and re-installing it on my C: drive. Then re-installing all my XBox Pass games on the same drive (different partition). This solves the problem - and is better than turning the Storgae Service off before rebooting, then re-enabling once boot has completed.

There is a problem with the Windows Store, and XBox Pass Games - if you have any games/app installed and you install them on a different drive, (not just a different partion but a differrent partition and drive) then that drive may not be awake/initialized when Windows first boots up and ready when you log in. When you log in quickly from the log in screen after a reboot, the drive with the apps/games is not acecssible yet, and you get a flickering task bar until the drive is initialized, then Windows continues normally. If you turn off the Storage service, when you boot up and log in, Windows doesnt try to access that disk at all (with the games and apps on it), therefore you dont get the problem. If you install all the store apps and xbox games on the same drive as the System (same drive as your windows partition eg C:, by using either the same partiion or a different partition) then everything works as expected and the drive is accessible, and you can have your games away from the C: partition - which reduces the size of backing it up.
