    Xbox Game Pass for PC Won't Let me Choose a new Drive for Games to be Installed to


    I recently bought a new SSD as my boot drive because my previous one broke. I set up Steam and stuff and everything is fine on that end. However, the Xbox Beta app for PC won't let me use my other storage drives to install games on. I have a 3TB and 1TB
    Seagate HDD for games and other applications. The app says "This location isn't set up for installing games." and then it gives me a link to my settings, "Change where new content is saved", and when I select either drive a prompt comes up saying "Delete other
    apps? This drive has apps from onther device. To use this drive, the other apps must first be deleted. Do you want to continue?" I tapped no for now because I don't want to delete all my games from Steam and other applications.

    Is there a way to fix this or get around it?

    Oh, I thought it would delete all other applications and games. Thank you for your reply. I only had a few Xbox Pass games installed so it isn't all that bad that I'll have to reinstall them.

    Unfortunately Windows 10 Apps and games can not be backed up and always need to be redownloaded, after a new Windows install or a new PC build.

    The 'Apps' being referred to in the error message are ones stored in the hidden 'WindowsApps' folder. If you choose to delete apps, only the Windows games and apps from the store will be deleted from this drive. Your other applications and games will be
    unaffected.
