Xbox Game Pass for PC Purchased through Microsoft Store Account

Ok... I'll try to make this clear as possible. I have been having an issue using my Xbox Game Pass and Gamer Tag with EA Play.

XBox Game Pass for PC and EA Play have a partnership. You're supposed to be able to play EA Play games with an XBox Game Pass Gamer Tag linked to your EA Account. You open the Xbox PC app click on an EA Game it either launches EA Desktop or prompts you to install it. Let's just say you have it installed already. You should be able to click on an EA game in the Xbox app for PC and EA Desktop should launch and start installing the EA game. Sounds simple enough right? Not quite.

EA Play included with XBox GamePass for PC NOT WORKING - Answer HQ

What happens is I click on an EA Game in the Xbox app it launches EA Desktop and it asks me to Join EA Play or pay for the game. It doesn't see my Gamer Tag has Xbox Game Pass for PC. I can't install any EA Play games. I've talked with EA Support several times and the only thing they can verify is I have the right Gamer Tag linked to my EA Account.

Here's what I THINK may be contributing to the problem.

I purchased my XBox Game Pass for PC membership using my Microsoft Store Account. Then signed in/linked my Xbox Gamer Tag in the Xbox PC app. So... in my mind my Gamer Tag has an Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription. I am able to use that Gamer Tag see all of my friends and play all of the Game Pass games. I've been using it like this for over a year

When I look at my account settings in the Xbox App it shows

Gaming Account - it shows my Gamer Tag here

Store Account - it shows my Microsoft Account here (which is different than my gamer tag and different email address)

Subscriptions - it shows Xbox Game Pass for PC here

But if I look at my account details on Xbox.com signed in with my Gamer Tag... nothing shows under subscriptions. I believe this is what EA Play is seeing. So no Xbox Game Pass for PC is listed with my Gamer Tag even though I'm using the Gamer Tag on the Xbox app. If I sign in to my Microsoft Store account on the Microsoft site I see Xbox Game Pass for PC listed under subscriptions. If I sign in with the address I use for that gamer tag... no subscriptions show.

In the Xbox PC App it gives me a notification every time I launch it saying Confirm the account you use for purchases. Your Microsoft account for Store is different than your account for Xbox. To see your friends achievements associated with Xbox, switch to that account. You can always switch in settings.

It then gives me 2 options.

1.) Keeping using your Store Account - My Microsoft Email is displayed. It says, use this account for things you buy in this app. Games you own or subscribe to via this account will appear in this app. There's a button below this option saying Keep Current Settings

2.) Make your Xbox account your new account for Store - My Xbox Gamer Tag is displayed. It says, use this account for things you buy in this app. Games you own or subscribe to via this account appear in this app. You'll see achievements for games you play on this account. There's a button below this option saying Set As Store Account

So I'm confused of what to do to fix all of this. I have a current Xbox Game Pass subscription bought through my Microsoft account and my Gamer Tag is linked in the Xbox app but outside of that no subscription is tied to that gamer tag and services like EA Play have this gamer tag linked to it and can't see it's used with a Xbox Game Pass subscription. How do I fix this? Do I need to change my store account to the Xbox account? Do I need to cancel my membership or what?
