Since you changed your Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate , you can add your 3rd code (4 Months GPU) to get a total of 2 years and 6 months of Game Pass Ultimate on your account.

It sounds like you have Xbox Live Ultimate, then purchasing Game Pass Core (Xbox Live Gold) for 12 months, which basically converted to ultimate for 4 months. Which is exactly what it is meant to do. If you wanted the 12 months, then you should have waited for Game Pass Ultimate to Expire before Redeeming the Game Pass Core. There is nothing that you can do. If you cancel Game Pass Ultimate, you will lose Your subscription, including the Game Pass Core you have just redeemed. You're better off waiting until it expires before getting another subscription.

If he has Game Pass Core, that would be the same thing (Gold was discontinued a few months ago and Core has replaced it).

If he has standard Game Pass for console, he can still use the card. It will give him the ability to play online.

If he has Game Pass Ultimate, he can redeem the code and it will be converted to 4 months of Ultimate.

However, if gift cards are available in your region, you can purchase up to 12 months of Game Pass Core from physical retailers in the form of a voucher code. Sadly, there is no way to purchase 12 or 6 months of Game Pass Core online from the Microsoft Store. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
