I understand, but it works that way anyway, unless it's an Xbox play anywhere, the cloud is a different progression indeed.

There seems to be some confusion over whether it has cloud saves as, whilst it's not list in the specs and whatnot, I see comments elsewhere pointing to cloud saves being enabled so no clue

While you’re connected to Xbox Live, saved games are automatically stored in the cloud. If you use your Xbox profile to sign in to a different Xbox One console, your saves are available from that console.

No. Anyone signed up for the Xbox Live service can store their saved games in the cloud.

The simple answer is to sign out and resign in. That is typically the issue. Here's a link to cloud data. That said it could very well be a common server issue:

"Xbox Game Pass for PC] Just lost my saves"

"Syncing Xbox One game saves to the cloud error messages"

Yeah I'll probably do that, because at least on PC using Game Pass, it's not saving on the cloud.
