Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming / Remote Play D-Pad and Joysticks not working? Fix:

A community member had this same problem a couple of years ago, and his suggested solution is as follows.

Settings > Accessibility > Magnification. I had this on. When I turned it off, the analog and d-pad started working.

Note: I assume it's anything that remaps buttons or adds shortcuts to hardware buttons. Turn them off.

Another nearby toggle lets you set the joystick to act as a D-pad, left analog stick, or right analog stick, which can come in quite handy depending on the game you're playing.

The toggle you mentioned is not working. That is the problem I am facing at the moment. The Xbox only recognizes the joystick as D-Pad, whatever the toggle is set to (DP, LS, RS).

The minimums are the barest of minimums, and especially on a laptop you're not gonna have a good experience trying to force it

An Xbox would be your cheapest hardware option, but will not work with your joystick more than likely.

Your cheapest option is an Xbox Game Pass ultimate subscription and using the cloud, but that only worked with an Xbox pad at this time.

No joystick but the base standard control pad will work with the cloud

You need to buy a Series console or play on PC if you wish to use this stick

Overall, the only real issue I have with the design elements is with the d-pad. When playing fighting games like Killer Instinct that require quarter-circle back, for example, it's incredibly hard to do those kinds of moves with the traditional d-pad that
was brought back for the Xbox One. Sure, I suppose I could use the joystick, but it's not as fast or as intuitive as an actual arcade joystick (lord knows I'm not willing to shell out big $$$ for 1 of those). I loved the rotating d-pad they had for the special
edition controllers on the Xbox 360 - I wish we had more of those or something similar.
