Yeah, I saw that message when I tried inputting the code here online when it didn't work through the Game Pass app. Unfortunately I'm probably in the minority, and I don't have an actual Xbox. My promo code came from Samsung, and it was for purchasing an
XCloud specific game controller...the new Moga one that was an official release authorized/partnered with Microsoft.

See my other comments on this thread. I'm pretty sure the issue is we're all current Game Pass subscribers, and it's only valid to new subscribers. @chriskember also faced the exact same thing that brought me here.

This basically no longer an issue for me..I just passed it on to a friend. Thanks for trying to help though.

I followed the instructions exactly and ended up with the same message as the original screenshot posted by XtremeDragon03 here. There's three ways to input the code. Through the Game Pass app, an Xbox, or online through Microsoft. In my case it was supposed
to work through the app, but I also tried online.

After looking around online for a fix, I've gleaned from a few other posted that these promos are only available to ppl without a current Game Pass subscription. For me, Samsung failed to include that info up front...it might be buried in the "terms and
conditions", but who actually reads that. It has nothing to do with the region.

Hello it says it at the bottom "Please redeem this code on your console" So try from your XBox console and see if that works.

yep, mine was a promo code from samsung that came with the mogaX controller. its supposed to be redeemed through the xbox game pass app, that doesn't work, and nor via Microsoft.com/redeem, as per the email containing the code
