xbox game bar - recordings stops after under 1 second

Hi, I got interesting problem with my game bar on my PC, when I try to redcord fullscreen game, it put screen just a bit darker (not too much, barely noticiable) for like a half of second, then, for like 0,1 second, screen turns black, then, for like second, it goes back to normal (normal brightness, normal screen) even with recording that I wanted. After this, recording just ends with no error, just like I ended it myself. It is saved normally, everything looks normal, but it just turns off itself. If I try it for seconds time short time after, it will not stop, it will record everything normally exacly how I want.

If I press windows+G instead of shortcut to record, it minimalizes my game. it started doing that after factory reset of my PC.

Whah could be wrong here and how can I fix it? (of do you need any more info?)

Hey Ilisuan,

Press Windows key + I, to open Settings.
Click on Gaming and select Captures from the left pane.
Under Background recording, toggle the switch to right for Record in the background while I’m playing a game.
Try recording the game now.

You mean you physically leave the PC or close the recorded app? As for as I know, game bar has a time limitation and the maximum recording length is 4-hour. You can check it under game settings. If it stops recording while not exceeding the maximum time
limit, maybe you can try some other desktop screen recorder like
RecMaster...

Hi, ever since I bought my Xbox One X, I could only use the “record that” feature to record for up to 2 minutes in 1080p and 30 seconds for 4k.

I was able to record for up to an hour in 4k if I used a compatible external drive.

The issue I’m having is that after the last update, 4K recording stops after 1-2 seconds. 1080p works fine.

I have done all troubleshooting steps that the others provided in this thread and I am grateful for the help but the issue still persists.

I had enough space

I was recording a video confrence

And it just crashed

An erroe poped up saying "game bar has stopped working" and it wasnt saved 😑😑😑

It recorded about 1 hour and a half

And i recorded long videos before and i had no problem
