Xbox Game Bar Performance Overlay Click-Through Bug

    Hi all, first time poster!

Each time I restart my PC, the Game Bar performance overlay (i.e. CPU, GPU, FPS information) loses the ability to click-through despite the option showing that it is enabled. In order to restore functionality, I have to disable and re-enable click-through.

I really like having this feature on all the time, but obviously it becomes inconvenient when I need to do this every restart. Any idea on how to fix or is this a bug?

    Cheers!

    :)

Xbox Game Bar - How to enable FPS counter on Windows

I see the game bar just fine, the only overlays I'm using are spotify, xbox social, capture and performance. All of the overlays work perfectly fine, however performance does not have any option to show FPS, or enable it. I've tried the advanced options
in Windows through the settings in the Apps category to "repair" and "reset" but it does not change anything. I don't know whats wrong.

Xbox Game Bar "Invite to game" greyed out

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    good evening

There are a few potential solutions for this issue:

Make sure you and your friends are all using the same version of the Xbox Game Bar app.

Try resetting the Xbox Game Bar app by going to the Windows Settings > Apps > Xbox Game Bar > Advanced Options > Reset.

Check your privacy settings on Xbox Game Bar by going to the Windows Settings > Privacy > Xbox Game Bar > Make sure "Allow invites and game invites from Xbox Game Bar" is turned on.

Try disabling the Xbox Game Bar app and then re-enabling it.,

If none of the above solutions work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox Game Bar app.

Press the Windows key + I to open the Windows Settings app.

    Click on "Apps."

Scroll down and find "Xbox Game Bar."

Click on "Xbox Game Bar" and then click on "Advanced options."

Under "App settings," you'll see an option to "Pause" or "Uninstall" the app. Click on "Pause" and wait for the process to complete.

After disabling the app, you can re-enable it by going back to the "Advanced options" and clicking on "Resume" instead of "Pause"

Alternatively, you can try uninstalling the Xbox Game Bar app and then reinstalling it by following these steps:

Press the Windows key + I to open the Windows Settings app.

    Click on "Apps."

Scroll down and find "Xbox Game Bar."

Click on "Xbox Game Bar" and then click on "Uninstall."

Confirm the action by clicking on "Uninstall" again.

After uninstalling the app, you can reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.

You can also try to use the Steam in-game overlay instead of Xbox Game Bar.

You can enable or disable the Steam overlay by going to Steam Settings > In-Game > Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

It may be a bug or an issue with the Xbox Game Bar app, so it's worth trying different solutions to see if one of them resolves the issue.

why wont the game bar stay open

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with Gamebar.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please enable Click-Through Mode by opening the Game Bar by pressing Win + G. Go to the Settings (gear icon) in the Game Bar overlay. Look for an option related to "Click-through" or "Always on top" and enable it if available.

And then reset the Xbox Game Bar. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

Search for "Xbox Game Bar" in the list. Select it, click Advanced options, and then choose Reset.

Make sure that your Windows operating system is up to date because missing updates can cause compatibility issues.

Next is to reinstall the Xbox Game Bar. To do this, open PowerShell as an administrator.

Run the following command to uninstall the Game Bar:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

Then, reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.

Then adjust Game Bar settings. Please open the Game Bar and go to Settings.

Under the Personalization or Overlay section, check if there are options to keep the Game Bar open while gaming.

After that is to disable fullscreen optimizations. Kindly right-click on your game’s executable file and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and check the box for "Disable fullscreen optimizations."

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Why cant my XBOX party hear me on PC unless Gamebar is open? my default devices settings are correct on both Xbox And Gamebar apps.

There is a workaround: in Game Bar you can pin the party chat so that it stays active when the Game Bar overlay disappears. Click the pin icon on the party chat widget. Hopefully they fix it properly soon.
