Xbox Game Bar Party Chat does not want to connect on PC

For the past 6 months I have had an issue with the Game Bar where everytime I try and create a party or join a party im met with an error saying it cannot connect at this time and to try again later. Unfortuately I have tried again later and am still greeted by the same message...

I have tried different solutions including terminating the app, repairing the app, resetting the app, restarting my pc, signing out and signing back in, uninstalling the xbox app, syncing date & time, and everything else I could possibly find on the internet. All resulted in not being able to connect still. I have looked non stop to try and find a solution and could never find one. I have tried seeing if I can talk to someone on support but it always tells me that its unavailable, so thats fun. Most of my friends I play with on xbox dont have the means to use another group chat app so the Xbox Party was always my second choice, but at this point it's starting to just annoy me.

If anyone can tell me a solution that helps my issues you would be my hero.

Hi there Finn welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Well, I suggest you try this:

Open the Settings app it is the gear in the start menu.

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options

Scroll down to Privacy

Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

Restart your PC!

There are some more convoluted setups as well, but they would work such as connecting the bluethooth headset to a Windows 10 PC and using the Game Bar or Xbox apps to connect to a Xbox party and chatting that way, still remaining wire free and utilizing
your existing bluetooth headsets.

You can create and join parties on Windows 10 just like on Xbox. You can do this using the

Windows 10 Game Bar. The people you are playing with can still chat to you using Game Bar even if they are on an Xbox One console.

Something to note:

If your controller is connected to your PC via Bluetooth you'll need to connect a microphone to your mic port on your PC. Chat via a microphone on an Xbox One controller is only available via USB or an Xbox One Gaming Receiver.

I'm having the same issue. Unable to connect to party chat using Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Companion. It started between 8pm and 830pm EST.

If you have the latest update, then party invites don't go to the Xbox Console Companion app anymore, and they go straight to the Game Bar. Same for party chat on the PC.

To access the Game Bar, just press the Windows button and G at the same time, you should be able to see your invites there.
