XBOX GAME BAR - How to recover corrupted screen recording file?

Sorry but the video, as previously mentioned, will be lost now. The reason being is that the video container format Gamebar uses must finalise the file to complete the recording. This finalising process can only completed when the video recording is stopped in the app.

Should the computer crash or lockup for some reason and stop the recording, then the recorded file won't be finalised and is, unfortunately, lost.

I understand some third party recording applications such as OBS use different methods to record and may not be so susceptible to such issues.

I understand the situation, game recordings that wasn't saved can't be recorder, once a recording failed unfortunately it's lost

there is a way to fix some mp4 files that have not finalised, rename the extension from mp4 to avi then use vlc to fix the video, i have had about 50% work fine after doing this.

I had this issue. It turns out there was a corrupt save file (it was a game recording) in the save files. Xbox Live Home Screen-> Settings-> System-> Storage-> Hard Drive ->Games and Apps-> Mw3 I deleted it and now the Multiplayer Screen runs without error.
