The activity status of the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10 only shows activity information for certain games and apps that support it. The activity status will display "Online" if the game is online-only, and "Nothing" if the game does not support the activity status feature. The support for this feature is determined by the developers of the games and apps, and can vary from game to game.

The Companion App isn't the best tool to use to join or make parties with other PC and Xbox users now.

You should try using Game Bar instead. Just press the Windows key and tap G to access the Game Bar.

I attempted the following instructions. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

However, the app automatically recognizes other games. (Just not Call of Duty). I'm not sure if it's something on my end or the app.

Hopefully a future update to the Xbox app or Windows will correct this.

It may be an issue with the Call of Duty launcher, as you have said, hopefully the next game update fixes it.
