XBOX Game App won't let me select other storage device for new game install.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried the first 2 options and it kind of worked but now it just keeps giving me a different error when start the install and wont install the games. I just really want to use my gamepass as I haven’t been able to for months now!

Before we try any different solutions, please check if your windows are updated to version 21h1, if not update it.

To update your windows follow the instructions below.

Select the Start button and then go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update.

- If the problem persists even after updating the operating system, please try the solution below

Solution 1:

Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

PC reboot

Install gaming service like you would normally

Solution 2:

Go to your windows settings, go to the tab>applications and resources>Search for Gaming Services, click on it, go to advanced options, and tap repair.

- If it doesn't work, try the alternative below.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

Let's try to change the default installation storage device for the Microsoft Store. You can also try to install games through the Xbox app, which should allow you to select which drive you want to install the game to. If on the Xbox app it doesn't detect your HDD, then follow these steps:

1. Open Windows 10 Settings.

2. Select System from the menu.

3. In the menu on the left, select Storage.

4. Now, under More storage settings, click Change where new content is saved.

5. Select your new default location.
