    Xbox freezes at dashboard every time a game needs an update


    Every time there is an update for a game, my Xbox freezes, the game stays at the “updating…” part where it’s trying to start the update but never starts. I can join party’s but that’s it, I can’t start up any game, I can’t open up settings. Worst part is if I restart my Xbox it fixes the problem but it deletes the whole game and I have to redownload it. I’ve reinstalled Fortnite like 4 times and Call of duty 3 times. These aren’t small games. How can I fix this issue.

    We’re excited to have you here and have great conversations! I'd be happy to be of assistance.

    I am sorry to hear about this issue. Are you using Xbox One or the Xbox Series? I would recommend trying to reset your console to factory defaults. To factory reset your console, follow the steps below.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide

    2. Select Settings

    3. Select System

    4. Select Console info & updates

    5. Select Reset console

    Please select option 2, which is Keep games and apps:

    1. Reset and remove everything

    2. Reset and keep my games and apps

    3. Cancel

    If Keep Games and Apps doesn't resolve the issue, I recommend choosing the Remove Everything option.

    The YouTube App freezes my xbox every time i get on it i can go on anything else on xbox live for hours and be fine then i go on YouTube freeze.... is this gonna need an update or can i fix it? and if this does need an update then please update it already.

    Weirdly enough, Black Ops works but every other game is ether needing a update or plain freezes the xbox.
