    Xbox Forces my Aspect Ratio


    SOLVED: Just check all your menu settings, my issue was caused by a hidden setting.

    I have followed several guides online to change my aspect ratio for my games to fully fit onto my TV. I have tried to calibrate my Xbox One very recently and it seems to force a size onto my TV. So far, I have turned overrides to HDMI from Automatic, then
    tried changing my TV's aspect ratio from there. However, my Xbox keeps the same screen without changing anything, the only thing that changes is how the screen looks. To make understanding easier, think of a square, but you are only manipulating the shape
    of that square, that is what I am experiencing. I thought it was my TV at first, however, everything else I tested this on works fine. Any way to fix my aspect ratio?

    What aspect ratio are you trying to force

    You do know you only got 2 options right ? 4/3 and 16/9

    All under your tv settings

    I got it working, apparently my TV was in something called "OverScan Mode" which practically forced a zoom in and it was just a hidden setting.

    Xbox One X ultrawide monitor support?

    Doesn't work. I've got a 35" monitor, curved and ultrawide. It seems that its stuck in a 16:9 aspect ratio and everything is stretched. There's no option that I know of to change it and none of my monitor settings seem to accomodate it so i have to force
    myself to use a 16:9 aspect ratio which leaves two very unsatisfying black strips on either side of the monitor

    Hi, that is usually caused by something called overscan on the Tv, try looking for some overscan option in the Tv picture settings.

    If you're struggling please post the make and model of the Tv and I'll try to find more info, be aware that not all Tv's have this overscan option so you may be stuck with the cut off screen.

    You could try changing that to HDMI, it can sometimes help. If you lose the display totally then you would need to reset the display settings.

    Before going that route though, have you tried all the available HDMI port on the Tv ? If not then try a different port.
