    Xbox forced me to set up my console again post update


    Not sure if this is supposed to happen, but I essentially had to set up my Xbox again after this update. Normally it just applies the update and I continue like normal. But this time it was different.

    I had to select my country, my language, sign into my account again, reload my preferences from prior to this update as if this was some new console, and other weird start up things.

    Maybe I’m crazy, but is this normal? Like did everyone else go through this? I just find it extremely annoying as it signed me out of all of my streaming services and apps so now I have to meticulously go through each one and log back in.

    Missing store tab,

    Hey Albert,

    To reset your console to factory settings you would need to pull up your
    Settings>System>Console Info>Reset Console>Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.     Before selecting the option to reset,
    make sure you know your email and password for the account as you will need to re-add it during the set up.

    If it does not give you the option to reset your console then you would need to do an

    Offline System Update     as the recent system update has gotten corrupted and you will need to force the Xbox to update again.

    I understand that, my issue isnt with the console updating its that when I'm currently using my console for gaming it forcibly removes me from that option and forces me to update the console which takes up to 10-15 minutes

    Try updating your consoles to the latest version and then power cycle (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and try downloading Max/Halo again.

    You should be able to force the system update by going to Settings>System>Update Console.

    Can I force my console to update before the update switches to mandatory?

    Yes. Once an update has been set as available, you can force your console to start immediately. There are two ways to perform this action, based on whether your console is online or offline.

    Online consoles. To force an update to a console while the release is in an available state, follow these steps:

    1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings.

    3. Select All Settings.

    4. Under System, select Console info & updates.

    Available updates will show in the second button down in the first column.

    If an update is available, the button will read Update Available. If your console is already on the current release build, the button will be greyed out and will read No update available.

    I had the above set already, using he console and it still forced me to do the update.
