    Xbox for PC won't open, I've tried almost everything


    I had some kind of crazy stuff happen to my system last night maybe an APT attack, a lot of my .sys files were apparently being tampered with. So I ran sfc /scannow, it failed. I ran DISM, it failed. I tried reinstalling windows from windows update so I don't lose all my data, I updated my bios also. That seemed to help stop the green screens and the .sys files being tampered with. I had to change passwords. ok so I can't get Xbox for PC app to even open. It gets stuck on the black screen with the xbox logo until it eventually crashes. I've tried Settings>Apps>Installed Apps>Xbox>Advanced Options - have tried terminate, reset, uninstall/reinstall. I have tried using Powershell to force uninstall/reinstall, that didn't work. I am not sure what is causing xbox for pc app to break for me, but if I try to run it, it just gets hung like that and never opens. I don't know what to do man. I tried to update it through the store too, no luck. Can someone please help me? Thank you.

    I am sorry to hear that.

    Please, do a clean boot and test the app.

    Press Windows Key + R > Type msconfig > Select Services > Check the box Hide all Microsoft Services > Select Deactivate All.

    Restart your computer.

    One other thing you can try, if you have access to it, is to install a clean copy of Windows into a different storage unit, to make sure it's not a system error.

    Check that your PC's time zone and region are correct and try again.

    If the issue persists, instead of downloading Launcher, download the game directly from the Microsoft Store or Xbox app. Also, make sure the account that purchased the game is logged into the Microsoft Store app on your Windows.

    These steps can help you, give it a try.

    Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.

    1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app

    2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset.

    3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

    4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.

    5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.
