Xbox fifa 18 save game corrupted, cannot load different save.

It looks like the information provided by the Ambassador was directed more towards issues with corrupted files on an Xbox 360 as there is no specification as to what Xbox console you were using exactly. Again glad you were able to get this issue resolved!

Hi thanks for the reply. I have fixed it, but not using either of the options supplied via the post.

For some reason I cannot see individual save files, as your post states I should. I think some stages are missing from that solution, or it is based on out of date information. I can only clear the games storage space, which strangley does not delete the
save files. It did not work, fifa 18 still froze while loading.

I didn't bother with solution 2, never got an error message, just the game would never load after the main screen.

Instead, an intreped gamer figured out that you have to uninstall the game, go into setting/system/console info, and choose to reset the console but keep the games and apps data.

From here, you have to let the xbox restart, set up some of the stuff again, and sign in with your profile, and let everything update again.

Weirdly, even though I deleted fifa 18 before the reset, it was installed when the xbox had restarted. Fifa 18 then downloaded the 6gig of updates, and loaded up fine. However, the corrupt save file was now gone.

All I lost was 4 in game days and a game against Newcastle United.

PS. A whole lot of other stuff downloaded for other games that hadn't prior the reset. This would indicate that it may have been an software issue with the xbox itself. But the reset has fixed everything. I would recommend that option as opposed to the microsoft
option.

Solutions

To resolve this issue, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Delete the corrupted game file

If the saved game file is corrupted, delete it. Here's how.

Note You cannot recover a corrupted saved game file. To protect other content, you must delete the corrupted file.

1. Determine if the saved game is corrupted. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Select settings, System, and then Storage.
      
   2. Select the storage location, and then press the A button.
   3. Select Games and Apps, and then press the A button.
      
   4. Select the game, and then press the A button.
   5. Select the saved game, and then press the A button.
      Note A corrupted saved game file is marked with a yellow exclamation point.
      
2. If the saved game file is corrupted, delete the corrupted file. To do this, select
   Delete.

Solution 2: Request a repair

If the issue is not resolved, your console may need to be repaired.
Start the repair process.

More Information

This problem rarely happens. When you try to play a saved game file that’s corrupted, you may get an error message depending on how the game saves corrupted files. Some games just filter out corrupted content, but other games display an error message.

It sounds like the saved game itself may be corrupt. If loading it from the menu, or from the in-game load screen causes possible issues with the game not loading, that's the most likely culprit. It's pretty rare for saved games to corrupt, but it can
happen, and each game handles it differently.

Can you try to start the game with a different profile?

If the game gets to the "Press A" screen, and then crashes, it might be an issue with a savegame.

If the game loads fine on a different profile, your savegame might be corrupted. Go to the storage settings, and clear the local savegame cache.

Try loading the game again, and let the game synchronize your saves from the cloud.

If the game still crashes, the cloud save is corrupted, and I'm afraid you need to start over or see if another save loads.
