xbox family group privacy setting change not applying

Unfortunately, child accounts cannot change their Xbox profile privacy settings. Doesn't matter if they are on a family group or not.

If you need to change your privacy settings, you will need to ask a parent to create a family group, invite you to the group as a member and change your privacy settings for you (if you are not on a family group).

You can check if you are on a family group by going to https://family.microsoft.com and see if it shows only your account or other accounts too.

But are you sure you cannot play online because or your privacy settings? Would you please share a screenshot of the message you receive when trying to play online?

If you were in a family group listed as a child account the adult of that group still has to change your privacy settings

Did you try to sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ ?

Can you send me a screenshot of your account on the webpage above showing that you're not on a Family Group?

Because if you're not on a Family Group, you should be able to change your privacy settings and shouldn't receive the "why can’t I change my privacy settings?" message.
