    Xbox family group issue

I've had an ongoing issue when attempting to change my xbox account's settings, everytime I click "xbox account" it redirects me to the family online safety page. The problem is my account is set to be 22 years old as well as I'm not in a family group. How do I fix this issue? Is there anyone I can contact to simply change my xbox username? All I want is to change my xbox username to "" instead of having the auto generated fitmite name. I've had this issue for months and have spent hours attempting to find a fix, I simply want to change my xbox gamer tag for my minecraft account.

    :)

    Xbox family group issue

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Nemui

Is your actual Microsoft account +21? (Just to say it, if you already changed date of birth to make it 22 years old but you put a different year when you created it, that’s no going to work)

If that’s not your case, try this:

Create a new (or use) account that can be considered as an adult account (try using another web browser or incognito mode).

Once done, add your main account as organizer via the link below. (you can see in the new account an "add member" button
    https://account.microsoft.com/family/

Please double check that you select your main account as organizer too, not member.

Once successfully added, sign out from your account everywhere and restart your PC
Then log in your account again and try downloading the game.

Just to double check, please check if birthdate is more than 18 if applicable

    Issues with Xbox Family Group

Hello, Zackary. Thanks for reaching out. I'm Lucas, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be glad to help you out.

I'm sorry about this. Would you please go https://family.microsoft.com and see if there are other members there besides you?

Also, just to be clear here, you have your own Microsoft account, right?

    Waiting for your kind reply.

Why can't I change any of my privacy settings?

We understand that you are having trouble changing your privacy settings on your account because it says that it is a child account in a family group, even though you are not in a family group. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

To resolve this issue, you will need to remove yourself from the family group. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

    2. Click on the "Family" tab.

    3. If you see a message that says "You're not in a family yet," then you can skip to step 6.

    4. If you see a family group listed, click on it.

    5. Click on "Remove from family" at the bottom of the page.

    6. Once you have confirmed that you want to leave the family group, you should be able to change your privacy settings without any issues.

NOTE: An organizer in an Xbox family group can manage settings for members who are in the family group. Kids can only see (and not manage) their own settings.

"We were unable to load your settings at this time. Please try again later." Error code

No, it is not. I thought I mentioned in the post that I even tried adding it to a family group, tested the settings, and then switched it so that it was the manager of the family group. Neither of those things worked. It is now not part of a family group. In addition, each of the times I attempted to access the settings from the account that was only listed as a member, not as the owner of the family group, I was unable to even get to the page that displays the settings. This leads me to believe that being part of a family group has no bearing on the issue at hand.
