    Xbox external hard drive not working!!


    So I've had my external hard drive for my Xbox for 2 years now, and I was playing my game and I barley hit hit the cord with my foot and it disconnected and when I plug it into my Xbox the hard drive will vibrate but the light doesn't come on, and my Xbox wont recognize it and I cant format it.

    So I'm asking is there another way to fix my external hard drive or should i get another one.

    Perhaps your child's external hard drive is not working. Is your child's external hard drive recognized by the Xbox One? Does it turn on any lights?

    Since it's working just fine using a different external hard drive it means that it's not the Xbox console, another option that you can try is using the external hard drive on a different Xbox.

    Some games do require an Xbox hard drive due to the system files on the drives. External hard drives will not work. They require an official MS Xbox 360 hard drive.

    The Xbox hard drive is garbage, load everything on an external hard drive and your problems solved. I had my hard drive 50% full then it wouldn't do anything. Now with every single thing on an external is actually works correctly the way it should work.

    okay instant on mode is already off because that's your way to get it to work with external hard drive it's an energy mode right now. And I have to keep the x box on in order for it to download to that hard drive. So you're saying leave the instant on mode
    off and keep it on energy mode, and try to download to the internal hard drive? if it works with the external hard drive then it should work with the internal hard drive doing it that way shouldn't it? Because it does work with the external hard drive with
    it on energy mode
