Please restart your console. Press and hold the power button on your console for several seconds until it fully powers down. Wait for a few minutes, then press the power button again to restart it.

And then check network connection. Make sure that your internet connection is stable and strong. If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired Ethernet connection for a more stable connection.

Next is to ensure your Xbox is running the latest system updates. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check for any available updates.

It is important as well to check for server issues. Check the Xbox Live Status page to see if there are any ongoing issues.

After that is to restart your modem and router by unplugging them for a few minutes and then plugging them back in. This can help resolve any network-related issues.

I had the same problem but I wasn't signed into my Xbox and when I signed in, it downloaded no problem

This error, 80072xxxx are generally associated with network or caching issues before, during or after a system update.

Check the steps in System update solution , specifically the section "Error message: There was a problem with the update"
4th option down.

First step to resolving issue is to ensure your network hardware is connected to your ISP (internet). A power restart of network hardware may be required while the console is powered off.

If the console is connected via wifi, try a wired ethernet cable connection to the network hardware. (Recommended)

Depending on what part of the update finished, Download, Verifying or Applying the console update should pick up where it got interrupted if it has a stable network connection.

The critical point of the update is the restart of the console in between the Verifying and Applying stages. The console Nexus button will flash on/off about 15-20 times, the screen will go blank and then the console will restart up and continue Applying
stage.

Patience is required while it restarts.

I don't remember exactly the error code but it started with 801 and error occurred. I will try to contact Phone Support as soon as I can but I will try what Xbox Support said to me on Twitter as well.

I looked over the error codes and I limited to the ones I think it was.

I can't pinpoint the exact one since they are all similar.

(My payment option did work, it was paid through my Microsoft Account)
