Xbox Enforcement

Just want people's general thoughts and opinions on Xbox Enforcement and code of conduct, specifically surrounding communication bans. I just recently got my first suspension and I feel like the punishment was longer than it should have been for the offense. I am not trying to say what I did was right and deserves no action but a warning system for first time offenders or a less severe punishment would have made me happier. For context, I called someone a coward, but think of a word that starts with p and ends with y, because of what he was doing in game (Rainbow 6). Once more not saying it was right but I just had a rough day and slipped up. I like to think I try to be decent person while messaging others for the most time, especially when people trash talk me first. I feel games and gaming can get quite toxic and so I try not spread more toxicity. However, I am not perfect and as I said this time just slipped up and made a mistake. So do you think if its your first time getting reported for something there should be a warning system? If not that then maybe a less severe punishment? I got a 4 day communication ban for saying one cuss word. Is that too much for my first suspension or do you think it is fair?

Some other things to note during the suspension, is that I can still receive messages, so the whole time while I am playing R6 I have people messaging me and inviting me to parties or telling me to go to game chat because communication is a big thing. Then that impacts the gameplay because some people get upset and end up team killing because I am not communicating. An unfortunate side effect due to a communication ban but that makes me question is there a better way to handle inappropriate messages? Can Xbox ban only messages and not parties? I don't see why my ability to talk with my friends or some people in a game should be effected by a single word. (Although I guess I can understand if that word was something more severe like a racial slur).

On the other side I still have people trash talking me, which Xbox allows, but I can't refute them or simply message them back at all. Overall if they do not allow you to join party, game chat, or send messages then they should alternatively also not allow you to receive messages. Therefore, when people go to send a party invite or message they will also get notified that this person is not receiving messages or invitations due to an in place suspension. Maybe this can help avoid these situations like in R6 where I can team killed for not communicating. Overall I can understand the need to enforce a non toxic community but at the same time I feel it could be handled in a better way. As one who only joins parties to talk to friends and only uses messages to talk to random people I meet in game then a message I send should only get me banned from sending more messages.
