Xbox Elite Series 2 FPS drop and disconnect constantly over BT on Windows 11

Running an elite V2 over BT to the most recent version of Win 11. I have connected the controller via USB and updated using the Xbox Accessories App. Every couple of minutes while playing a game I will get a large FPS dip followed by the controller disconnecting. Sometimes it reconnects other times I need to power cycle the controller. Recently it just would not connect and would not be seen by the PC even in BT pairing mode. I had to remove and clean reinstall all my BT drivers in order to get the controller reconnected, but it still causes the fps drop and controller cut out every couple minutes.

Using my spare Xbox one basic controller everything works perfectly. Becoming very frustrated by what is quickly amounting to a $180 paper weight.

See mods and advisors replying to other questions, not mine. Seems like this problem has been reported repeatedly and threads get closed without resolution. Guess I won't hold my breath on getting help

Thank you for reaching out to the forum. First make sure you have a controller supporting Bluetooth (Model nr. can be found in the battery compartment).

Not supporting BT: 1537, 1697 and 1698 (Elite Series 1).

Supporting BT: 1708 and Elite Series 2.

Are you able to connect through USB ?
