What console model are you using exactly?
Do you connect your controller via USB cable or wirelessly?

If on wireless, try to use a USB cable first to connect your controller to your console then check for a controller updates.

Don't forget to power cycle your console. Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

I also am experiencing this issue after purchasing the Halo Elite Series 2 controller, unable to use it in bluetooth as the A button toggles the xbox game bar and there isn't a prompt to update the firmware on xbox accessories app.

Hey I wanted to let everyone know an update with my controller. So I had the same issue and found a different thread somewhere else where someone mentioned connecting the controller to an xbox prompted the controller for an update. So I had to dig out my xbox one and sure enough connected the controller via USB and it prompted for an update, and now my Elite Series 2 Controller is once again working properly on my PC.

There was a new update released, can you try updating your Elite Series 2 controller again?

I also have the Elite Series 2 controller and I do not run into these issues when using it with the PC.
