XBOX Elite series 2 controller. Is anyone else being "electrocuted" by this controller? Not...

• I play only on PC now.
  
• The controller in question is the Elite series 2 controller (the core set).
  
• Used the first elite series controller on both Xbox and PC with no issues. Bought the elite series 2 controller due to my first controller having issues with a joystick.
  
• Always play with the controller plugged into the PC, no batteries.
  
• I use the paddles from my series 1 controller on my series 2
  

My controller sends out what seems to be a steady electric current constantly through the front right paddle. It hurts a fair bit and makes me unable to use the controller with paddles at all due to the fact that I am worried about the issues with electricity here. When touched against the sides of my fingers, I receive a very sharp pain on my finger immediately and for as long as I keep my skin touching the paddle. However, if I touch the paddle with the tip of my finger (the soft part of the finger not the nail) I feel a numb "buzzing" sensation until it begins to hurt like it did on the sides of my finger.

I am not an electrician, and electricity is a very shady subject for me because I don't fully understand how it works on a complex level, however, this feels almost like a static electric shock, except the feeling now lasting for as long as I touch the front right paddle. I had family touch the paddle as well, they all say they feel the same sensations, so its not just me. And remember, I am using the paddles from my first Xbox one elite controller, and that controller never gave me any issues whatsoever, regarding the paddles that is. Paddles do not cause the same issue on my previous controller, so I believe there is an issue regarding my new controller.

This event has happened twice now. First time was about an hour after playing Elden Ring, and I could not stop the issue. I waited to try it again the next day and the controller worked fine without any issues. The second time this issue occurred was about 2 or 3 days later. I was playing Elden Ring still and for about 2 hours in that current session, after which I closed the game, left my computer on to go do a quick task (about 15 min away from PC), and then returned to my PC. I opened Elden Ring, picked up my controller, and immediately felt the sharp pain on my finger.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? What should be my next step here?
