Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller and Wireless Adapter for Windows (stopped working)

The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.

Yes the Elite Series 2 controller should work fine with the wireless adapter.

That adapter will WORK with the Elite controller.

When I got my Oculus Rift, the set included the older model of the Xbox Wireless USB Adapter with a Xbox controller, and my Elite Controller works on my Windows 10 PC with that adapter.

The newer version is simply a bit smaller.

So you do NOT need a special "Elite" wireless adapter (which doesn't exist).

So after months of preparing myself to contact Microsoft, I finally stumbled upon the answer to the problem I had. I tried multiple officially licensed controllers including Elite, Elite Series 2, both xbox wireless adapters for windows... I was
at my wits end.

Go to All Settings, search for "Turn Airplane Mode On". If you'll kindly look at the bottom where "Xbox Wireless" is in the off position, turn it on. Now your controllers will pair correctly with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
