Xbox elite controller disconnecting from PC using USB connection

My xbox elite series 2 controller is disconnecting from my PC 10 seconds into playing rocket league. I have a USB connection, it has worked well for two years. A few days ago in the middle of a game it randomly disconnected. The home button stayed on but I could not control the game and I lost audio. The controller is charged because I have a charging and gaming cord that came with it and I put it on the charging adapter sometimes. I have tried a new usb port, a new usb cable, I have unistalled all USB Drivers, Xbox controller drivers, Plug and Play driver. I updated my firmware of the controller. I updated and have restarted my PC many times. I brought an older controller to my pc and plugged it in using the same USB cord and it works. I take my elite controller to my old xbox and it also works on that. So what could it possibly be?? Its got to be on my PC and I have no idea what is wrong

Meanwhile, you can try downgrading your controller firmware:

Once downgraded, connect it to your PC and try to play Rocket league one more time.

I have not tried any other games. I updated my firmware for my controller yesterday. Rocket league and Windows have been updated every time an update comes out. I do not have another PC to test it on. It does work on an xbox

Let’s try to sort this out. However, before that, I would like to ask some questions:

Is the controller disconnecting when you play Rocket league, or are more games affected?
Do you remember if Rocket league, Windows, or the controller firmware was updated recently?
Can you confirm if the controller works on another PC with Rocket league installed, or did you only test by connecting the controller to this other PC?

My elite 2 when connected to PC via bluetooth loses connection and I am also experiencing sudden frame rate drops which I do not see when playing it with wired or keyboard or mouse. I did not had any issues with Elite 1 which connected via a usb
dongle. I updated the controller and the bluetooth feature is broken. Anyone got it to work on PC via bluetooth without any issues?

exactly the same issue here, have no problem with using my xbox one s controller on PC, but lots of disconnections and frame rate drops with elite 2
