xbox elite controller black paddles not suitable for the standard version?

The first version of the elite controller comes with one set of paddles, however they aren't compatible with the new version, if you need to order spares then I would advise ordering the paddles that come with the version you have.

When it comes in i would first check that everything that should be included with the controller comes in:

• Xbox Elite Wireless Controller
• Carrying case
• Set of 4 paddles
• Set of 6 thumbsticks: standard (2), tall (2), and domed (2)
• Set of 2 D-pads: faceted and standard
• USB cable
• AA batteries

has some really good images for you to at least visually compare to see if it is the real deal.

I know that on my controller it feels heavier than a regular controller and a dead give-away is that when it is paired with the Xbox your console will recognize it as an elite controller and let you customize the button mapping (including the fancy paddle
buttons on the elite) when you open the Xbox Accessories app.

All the standard controllers are basically the same, just the color scheme is different. I owned the first elite controller and bought the second within a month of release. The customization options for this controller make it really worthwhile. Also
now I have a hard time on a standard controller not having the additional paddles. I have not regretted my choice in getting both elite controllers

Try either the standard xbox controllers or the elite version.

I think it'd be nice if they added the rubberized grip to every standard controller. If they added the paddles that would allow different input binding, it'd kinda negate their marketing for the Elite Controller V2.
