Xbox Elite Controller 2 on PC Stuck in Update Loop

Hello, today I was playing some games on my pc with my elite 2 connected through the official xbox wireless adapter. I wanted to bind the paddles for a game, but when I launched the Accessories app, it asks me to update the firmware. However, when it completes and says done, it tells me again update required. Sometimes it even turns the controller off before the update is finished and still says done, yet it doesn't come back on.

I have already updated the xbox app, there is no update for accessories, and have restarted my pc twice. I have also tried to update while wired. Still I get stuck in the loop. I will attach what happens below in an image.

*note in this case, the controller now is fully turned off although the same loop occurs even when it comes back on

aaaaand, back to square 1.

What should I do? Do I need to fully re install the drivers and software? It's pretty bugged. The controller was also acting weird with a bit of stick drift.

Please try first reinstalling the drivers and the accessories, sometimes that helps:

Reinstall your controller driver:

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

If the issue persists, reinstall Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

If the issue persists, try using a different computer if possible. Or use a different USB cable

I really have no idea how. I tried it again about 5 more times but this time slightly wiggled the joystick. It also restarted twice. But now it works. Good luck to anyone else with this bug I guess

There was a new update released, can you try updating your Elite Series 2 controller again?

I also have the Elite Series 2 controller and I do not run into these issues when using it with the PC.

To configure the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, get the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (or later) and make sure your PC has the latest fixes.

xbox elite controller 2, Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Adapter (this big one, not the tiny flashdrive sized one). and PC. or are you asking specs to the PC?
