You should be able to start getting your device repaired on your Devices page, in your Microsoft Account page: https://account.microsoft.com/devices

There, add your controller and then check if you can start a device replacement. You can also follow these steps:

2. Register your controller.
3. If it is under warranty, request a replacement.

yes I've tried all that spent the afternoon going round in circles on the site , all the pages I go to either end up saying somethings wrong or give me an error and when I got to get to the call back page it just kept saying something when't wrong at their end so how do I send the controller back if every page I get sent to seems to be broken?

I've tried that it keeps giving me an error or sending me to 404 pages ,so does that mean there is no way of getting in touch with microsoft

so you have done exactly what the microsoft website has done I've jumped through all the hoops that they have given me and at every last step there has been a glitch or an error message ,my question remains how do I get in touch with them if their system seems to be broken to me ,all I need to do is talk directly to someone but that facility doesn't seem to exsist , is there a hidden secret phone number that can be used if all else fails ,Idon't mind ringing them when their callback service seems to be broken .
