Xbox download speed UK Virgin Media 1gb service

Hi

I have a 1GB service with Virgin Media in the UK but am only getting a max of 550mb download speeds for games. I have checked in the network settings and this comes in at 980mb download speed which seems to be around where it should be.

Anyone else have the same issue / managed to resolve it.

they are the same thing, 8 bits to a byte, if i have 100 MegaBytes per second (million bytes per second) downloading that is 1 Gigabit per second.

Your bits aren't your true download speed though

Megabit has to be /8

Since downloads are measured in bytes

you can measure download speed in Megabits or MegaBytes, always have been able too.

he knows that, he was getting 550Mbps (Megabits per second) from a Gbps Connection. This is due to overheads, congestion and Xbox network capping top speeds.

I guess I'll be happy with the speeds I have then. I downloaded a 55gb game in 15min yesterday so I shouldn't moan.
