Xbox doesn’t stop at time limit

The time limits on my son’s Xbox series S stopped working about a week ago. They are still set correctly in the X Box family app and he is signed in using the correct account. The app shows how much time he has used and shows he is over time but the console doesn’t stop working. I have reset the console.

the parental controls can be a disaster, I had them set for one of my sons who is a nightmare, he found a way around them on console, now on pc I had it all set then he found a way to get around it, so now I just use the router and schedule times his devices get internet and added his device via mac and made it so if he changes mac he no longer has internet. the only way I found that actually works.

Hello Simon,

I understand how important it is to solve this. If you did a full factory reset already, it's probably something that can be solved with some account tweaks.

First, remove your son's account from the Xbox, then remove his account from the family group and then re-add him. After he's back in the group, set the timer settings again. After that, re-add his account to the Xbox to freshly sync everything.

update: from doing some research I found the 2tb version was a limited edition console but that still doesn’t explain the stopping sales of the 500gb console

So if I create another adult account I can manage the adult account he is already using? I didn’t think you could manage the screen time on an adult account. How do I do that? It doesn’t give me the option to set screen time limits for the adult account
he is using. I created a second adult account but it doesn’t let me set the screen time limits on the other adult account.

You're actually correct, if limiting game time is the goal, you would not be able to do that to an adult account. This means the alternative suggestion would be the way to go for this scenario.
