Xbox does not forward to dashboard after initial green xbox startup screen

So I have talked to 3 reps over chat and 1 over the phone spending many of my limited free hours trying to resolve this issue. From what I have been told the Xbox did not take the last update whatever that means so I was forced to do it manually. After the
first rep told me to download the wrong version (OSDUT1) which already took me an hour, I had to then download the other one (OSDUT2) which obviously took another hour. Once I finally got the right one onto the flash drive I plugged it into the Xbox and it
didn't work. This is when I made the phone call instead of continuing to try and fix this over chat. I eventually got the response that the update doesn't work on Mac's so you'll have to send it in for a repair. First of all, nowhere on the entire Microsoft
website does it say manual updates do not work for Mac's, get with it Microsoft. OK, so now obviously I'm a little angry because the more I hear from reps the more confused I'm getting. So finally I ask the cost for the repair. I was told $115, but don't worry
it's $20 cheaper if I do it through the website. So $100 no big deal. YES big deal. I asked how is this my fault that the Xbox didn't take the update, it's not like I did anything to cause this to happen, the Xbox hasn't moved an inch from the last time it
has worked. The response I got was, its no ones fault sometimes it succeeds and sometimes it fails. Obviously who ever created the dam xbox/update, its there fault, sure as hell isn't mine. So in conclusion, I must now pay about $100 or more to fix an issue
that shouldn't have happened in the first place (never heard of something like this in my life), probably could've been easily fixed if someone explained this to me correctly, and for christ sake was compatible with a dam Mac; Apple basically owns the technology
world at this point, the fact that anything is invented to not be compatible with a Mac is beyond my understanding.

Requesting Access to Preview Program Forums

I am a member of the Preview Program and since the new dashboard update all I get is a black screen after the initial green startup screen. I cannot view the Preview Program forums. It keeps saying group not found.

Well i guess my xbox is bricked as well because of this stupid update, luckily i had a ps4

 

Apple dominates the mobile market, it is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind in terms of home computing.

Do you not have a work machine/friend you can ask to download the manual update on their PC for you before looking to send it back?
