Xbox disc data transfer too digital

Hi, I have a Xbox one s and i'm thinking about switching to series s. My main concern is that all the progress from my discs wouldn't transfer, i'm fine with re-buying my games digitally., I'd just like to make sure all progress on the disc games would save to the new xbox digitally.

The saves are stored on the cloud. So once you start a game on the Series S, the saves will sync up.

It's possible to transfer the game data, but the disc is used to verify you own the game. Without the disc or owning the game digitally, you won't be able to play it.

The disc is needed for verification that you still own it.

The reason for instalation is the data transfer from a bluray disc is too slow for the console to play the game.

Thanks for the reply Shaggy2000. I made a typo for my internet speed, you're right it was 10mbps. I'm only on ADSL so it is painfully slow for downloads/streaming.

I'm guessing it is the day one data that is downloading then, I see my internet light flashing on my router for my Xbox on disc installs which usually indicates data transfer. So it must be that.

But in regards to disc version and digital version I think that if we could install the disc data before we get the disc, it'll definitely speed up the process, especially for poor buggers like myself who don't live in fibre optic areas...
