    Xbox dhcp server problem

My Xbox one was working just fine earlier today but the wifi in my house cut out and after it came back on my Xbox couldn’t connect to the dhcp server, this has never been and issue I’ve had before on this Xbox or any other consoles, I’ve already fully restarted the Xbox, factory reset the wifi router and done most of the troubleshooting suggestions that automatically pop up, what should I do next

    :)

xbox live problems ever since change of network name

It is most likely a problem with the DHCP server in which that there aren't anymore IP addresses to give and therefore your xbox cannot connect. Basically there isn't anymore space on the network. If you know someone who knows about handling DHCP ask them,
if not reply back. ( I am a server admin running various DHCP Servers). From what you said this seems to be the problem. Hope it helps!

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

We will be following the steps below: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/Hardware-Ne...

We may need to perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below to refresh the connection between the Xbox and router.

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.
    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
I followed the exact steps and now the error that is coming up when trying to connect is that it cannot connect to the ip address and that is can’t connect to automatic ip address, and when I switch to manual it says it can’t connect to static and I should switch to automatic

The issue is with the network connection itself, have you tried to check if there are any restrictions or outages on their end by attempting to reach out to them?

    Xbox repeatedly requesting IP Address

    Greetings Raynger!

May I ask, do you experiencing any problem with your cosole's connectivity, causing it to be a bit chatty with the DHCP server, whilst being turned off (Instant-On mode?)?

@HairyBuzz - Try to make a static IP outside of the dynamic range of the DHCP server, and not within.

For end-user device, it is better to use DHCP reservation. If this feature is supported.
